SeaLegacy Work Assignment - Content Strategy

Background:

In 2018, SeaLegacy launched a petition campaign to get the US Congress to ban drift nets in California. The bill, previously passed in the California State Legislature, was then introduced for separate passage at the federal level.

The SeaLegacy media kit was distributed widely at the time, and Paul/Cristina’s creative content was featured extensively on digital, contributing to significant initial growth in Tide members.

In a huge initial victory, the bill passed the House and Senate unanimously in 2019. But former President Trump vetoed its passage.

In more recent great news, Senator Feinstein reintroduced the bill this February, given the much higher likelihood of passage in a Biden Administration.

Goals:

Given the large number of Tide members and new followers gained in the original campaign, many of whom followed it closely in the intervening years, we see this latest announcement as a huge growth opportunity.

Our goals are to (1) increase engagement from prior supporters; (2) gain new followers and Tide members.

Exercise:

Can you draft the following to serve the goals outlined:

Content plan across platforms incl. recommended formats

Messaging and CTAs

Influencer engagement strategy and potential brand partnerships
